Why Do We Need To Be A Caring Service?
I have spent years at the bedside and as part of the workforce working to make health and social care a positive experience for the people who rely on it. If there is a through-line to my practice, it is this: solving problems with people, not for them.

The question "why do we need to be a caring service?" might seem to have an obvious answer. But in the day-to-day reality of health and social care — with its pressures, its paperwork, and its relentless pace — it is a question worth asking again and again.
Caring is not just a value. It is a skill, a practice, and a discipline. It requires us to be present, to listen, and to act in the interests of the people we serve — even when that is difficult. It requires us to challenge practices that fall short, and to celebrate those that get it right.
